Rivets are permanent mechanical fasteners. Like all fasteners, they are used to hold parts together. Most rivets have a cylindrical body with a smooth, rounded head on one side. Driving a rivet through two or more parts secures them together

Solid rivets are one of the oldest and most reliable types of fasteners. They consist of a solid shaft with a head on one end. The head on the other side is formed after assembly.

Solid rivets are utilized in applications where reliability and safety are important.

    1. Does not loosen due to vibration
    2. Eliminates the need for nuts and washers

A semi tubular rivet / tubular rivet is like a solid rivet but with a shallow hole on the side opposite the head. This hole causes the tubular portion of the rivet (around the hole) to roll outward when force is applied.
